Differences between IIT and NIT


The Indian Institutes of Technology, one of áIndia’s premiere Institutes in the country has marked its name in the fieldáof education. This Institute is globally renowned for its educational excellence, and students from different parts ofáthe world come to study and perform their research work here. The history of IITs dates back to pre-historic era and it’s successfully managing to keep up its superiority and excellence.

Other than the IITs, there are few other names as well that have been significantly influencing the education department of the nation.

NITs ( National Institutes of áTechnology) is another name in the education industry that is performing very well and is known to have produced some of the best minds in the country. There are a total of 31 NITs with a total of 15,500 seats. It offer students a wide variety of courses that allows students take up courses according to their preferences. They have a good placement record as well, so the studentsáhave a good, high-paying jobs in their hands before leaving college.

All the colleges that comes under NIT have different rankings, based on their placement records, results, education pattern and such other features. So, the students should also have a brief idea about the rankings of each of the NIT Colleges.

But, one of the foremost thing that students should keep in mind is that getting into these colleges in not a piece of cake. One needs to crackácompetitive exams to earn a seat in any of these prestigious colleges.

In the year 2015, over 1,300,000 candidates appeared for the JEE exam for admission to 28,000 undergraduate engineering seats in 68 centrally-funded technical institutes that included all 19 IITs (10,000 seats), 31 NITs (15,500 seats) and 18 IIITs- Indian Institute of Information Technology (2,500 seats).

With limited number of seats and stiff competition, it is impossible to accommodate all the engineering aspirants. The entrance demands exhaustive amount of hard work and tremendous efforts. Students spend years preparing for the exam. Both online and offline platforms are utilized by students in the hope of making into these esteemed colleges. But, unfortunately not many make it to the top most colleges. There are various tips and tricks to prepare for the exam, but one should diligently choose the one that would really make a difference in their studies and help them score higher.
